ACCESSORIES:
Besides tubes & fittings we supply you all the accessories to achieve a trouble free joint.

Solder wire: Always use lead free solder wire. Leaded solders are health hazard and have relatively low shear strength. Resin and acid coke solders should never be used. Low heat required to melt soft solder (240O C) prevents the formation of deleterious films thus avoiding possibility of pitting corrosion. We supply the best quality Tin-Copper solder made in U.K.

Flux: Flux is a chemical agent, which cleans the overlapping surfaces being joined and helps the solder wet these surfaces uniformly to produce a strong bond as the solder cools. The flux (one of the best in the world) is produced by LA-CO, USA. With LA-CO Regular Flux normally oxidized/tarnished copper are cleaned by the flux and abrasive cleaning is normally unnecessary. This flux, which 'CLEANS AS IT SOLDERS', is non-toxic, lead free and non-acid. Available in tubes of 1.5 oz or in containers of 2 oz, 4 oz or 1lb.

Insulation Tube: To cover hot water line.

SOLDER TORCH with nozzle, clips and rubber hose.

TUBE CUTTERS from 15mm to 35mm.

TUBE BENDERS for bending tubes.

CLEANING PADS for cleaning the tube surface.

PLASTIC CLIPS for external fixing of tubes.

CLEANING BRUSH for cleaning insides of the fittings.

CARRY BAG for organizing the soldering kit & fittings.

ABC will help you to choose the fittings!

Jointing Process:

  • In order to make a proper and neat joint, measure the tube length accurately and make a small mark. Ensure that the tube and fitting are size compatible.
  • Cut the tube square with a tube cutter.
  • Remove internal and external burrs form the tube. Clean the end of the tube with a cleaning pad. Ensure all oil, grease, and heavy oxides are removed. Clean the socket of the fitting with a brush.
  • Apply a thin film of solder-flux paste evenly on the tube. Insert the tube into the fitting up to the step. Remove any excess flux.
  • Rotate the tube once so that the solder-flux spreads properly.
  • Apply heat with a torch till the flux melts. Avoid over heating but ensure that the total flux comes out.
  • Remove the flame. When the joint is at the correct temperature, add the solder, which will be drawn into the joint by Natural Capillary Action. When correctly made, a ring of solder will be observed all the way round the joint. Allow joint to cool and wipe residual flux.

Most Important

  • Always use correct quality of pipes, fittings and flux.
  • Always use lead free solder wire only.
  • Insulate the hot water line with insulation tube.
  • Pressure tests the entire pipeline system after assembly. If no leakages are observed, you have achieved a life long joint.
